Vacancy: Program Manager

A dynamic youth based organization seeks a qualified candidate to fill the post of Program Manager. The purpose and scope of the Program Manager position is to maintain the purpose and status of all projects in a program; to ensure that all program goals are met and that all stakeholder objectives are met in relation to all the programs.

Reports to:  Executive Director.

Location: Harare

Duties and Responsibilities

The Program Manager will take full responsibility for supervising and supporting all of the organisation’s in Zimbabwe. Other main duties include:

  • Ensure the implementation of all core programs
  • Assist in fundraising for program activities.
  • Ensure programmes and M&E and associated operations reflect the operational standards, strategy and practices in line with the organisation’s Key Performance Indicators Framework.
  • Develop organisational and Programme’s strategy and planning.
  • Capacity building of programme staff to maximise management, coordination and delivery of programmes.
  • Overseeing effective documentation and dissemination of programmes results.
  • Partnership management and networking. 

 Qualifications, Skills and Attributes

  • Degree in relevant field of study preferably social sciences, development studies, or equivalent work experience. Masters degree offers an added advantage.
  • At least five years of experience in development sector or NGO, particularly in youth empowerment initiatives.
  • Experience in strategic planning and managing against programme results.
  • Fluent written and spoken English.
  • Excellent IT, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in training delivery.
  • Experience of design and evaluation of youth empowerment programmes.
  • Knowledge of relevant national and international strategies and frameworks in the areas of youth and women empowerment, sexual health, HIV and AIDS, educational, skills development and poverty issues.
  • Experience working with global partners /regional or international experience would be an added advantage.

The individual must possess strategic astuteness, be results oriented, have demonstrated analytical skills, be forward thinking and be able to supervise and support programmes to maximise impact. The successful individual will have the interpersonal skills necessary to establish and manage working relationships with staff and programmes experience.
